Turner Court is foundation of Portland Green Student Village and where the community philosophy began. Managed by Abodus, we work in partnership with Newcastle University so Turner Court is occupied exclusively by Newcastle University students. To book accommodation in Turner Court, students must go directly via the University booking portal.
Although Turner Court may be exclusively for Newcastle University students, residents in this building are still part of Portland Green Student Village and have the same access as all other students across our community. Residents can enjoy the use of the village’s private on-site gym, large social area in Bryson Court and on-site study pods. Many of the village’s social events take place in the main social area which have proved hugely popular amongst Turner Court residents. Whether it’s a pizza party, quiz night, bongo’s bingo or free food truck, there’s loads of events for PGSV students to get stuck into.
Turner Court is the only building in the village to have their own exclusive social area. Complete with pool table and TV, this area is a popular break-out space for many Turner residents and has recently been refurbished in summer 2020. Plus the attached laundry means waiting for your washing to finish doesn’t have to be boring! On the ground floor of Turner Court is a Tesco Express and Subway, so grabbing some last minute essentials, or a late night snack, couldn’t be easier.
Each room in Turner Court is en-suite, and comes with a ¾ bed, under bed storage, study desk and en-suite shower room. The communal area in every flat has an open plan living/dining area, perfect for socialising with your flatmates or having your course mates across for dinner.
